Caddis Cow™ Setup
Whether hunting with a caller or by yourself, the Caddis Cow™ works best when it becomes the visual source of the sound. The goal is simple: give the bull something believable to see at his hang-up point.
The Simple Setup
Step 1: Set the decoy behind the shooter.
Step 2: Project the calls behind or towards the decoy.
Step 3: Move into the shooting lane.
Step 4: Let the decoy provide visual confirmation at the hang-up point.
Result - If a bull reaches his hang-up point, the Caddis Cow™ gives him visual confirmation and helps keep him coming.
Guided Setup
Caller with the Caddis Cow stages 20–40 yards behind the shooter. Calls are projected away from the shooter while the decoy provides a visual anchor.
Result - If a bull reaches his hang-up point, the Caddis Cow™ gives him visual confirmation and helps keep him coming.
Solo Setup
Place the Caddis Cow 10–30 yards behind your shooting area. Throw calls behind or towards the decoy and quietly move into your shooting lane.
Result - If a bull reaches his hang-up point, the Caddis Cow™ gives him visual confirmation and helps keep him coming.

Storage & Maintenance
Keep it simple. Keep it ready. Built for the next encounter.
Short-term:
Loosely roll and tie-off (see video below). Keep it accessible in your pack.
Long-term:
Clean and fully dry, then lightly fold. Store flat during off-season in a cool, dry place out of sunlight.
Care:
Hand-wash gently using minimal scent-free detergent. Lay flat to dry.
Internal Support System
Each Caddis Cow™ decoy includes two handcrafted support points made from 1 mm stainless-steel spring wire. This system allows the decoy to hold a natural feeding posture in the field while remaining lightweight and easy to pack.
The flexible spring wire provides enough structure to keep the decoy stable during a setup while still allowing it to fold flat when stored in your pack.
For best results, store the decoy flat during the off-season to help maintain the natural shape of the support wire.
With a solo setup, attach the Caddis Cow to a branch or small bush using the trekking pole or stick and a spring clamp. It takes some practice to get it right, so try a few setups in the woods before you need it.
